In the Philippines, Breast Cancer ranks as the top cancer site for both sexes. About 65% of cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage. While there is currently a network of DOH cancer centers across the Philippines from Luzon to Mindanao, for treatment to be highly effective, it is essential that the disease is detected at an early stage.
The implementation of a nationwide cancer early detection program must be started and built on planned organizational change. That is why, the country aims to make cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment and care more equitable, affordable and accessible for all.
